World Mental Health Day Masterclass Series

Monday │12 October 2026

In celebration of World Mental Health Day, IAPC&M brings you a special series of three expert-led masterclasses exploring wellbeing, emotional change and embodied coaching practice.

Coaches regularly hold space for other people’s challenges, emotions and ambitions. But effective coaching also requires us to pay attention to our own capacity, boundaries and wellbeing.

Across these three sessions, our expert speakers will explore practical approaches to protecting your energy, understanding emotional memory, working more effectively with the body, and creating sustainable coaching practices that support both coach and client.

Whether you want to strengthen your professional boundaries, deepen your understanding of emotional change, or bring more embodied awareness into your coaching, these sessions offer practical insights you can take straight into your work.

Holding Space Without Carrying It: A Coach’s Guide to Healthy Boundaries

With Hulya Kurt, AFC
Vocation Architect, Switzerland

Being fully present for a client does not mean carrying their emotions home with you.

For coaches, wellbeing is more than a personal consideration. It is an important part of ethical, responsible and sustainable professional practice.

In this practical session, Hulya Kurt explores how coaches can remain empathetic and engaged without slipping into emotional over-responsibility. You will discover ways to recognise when your capacity is becoming depleted, create healthier boundaries and develop habits that allow you to continue supporting clients without compromising your own wellbeing.

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Understand why coach wellbeing is an ethical and professional issue, not an optional extra.
  • Recognise early signs of emotional depletion and reduced capacity.
  • Learn a simple framework to prepare, contain, release and replenish.
  • Better distinguish empathy from over-responsibility.
  • Develop practical boundary strategies that protect both coach and client.
  • Understand when and how to refer a client beyond the coaching relationship.
  • Make one clear commitment towards a more sustainable coaching practice.

Hold the space. Support the client. Protect the coach.

Beyond Talking: Rewiring Emotional Memory

With Anne-Marie Mayers Clapp, AMC
Trainer & Founder - Soul Awakening Academy, UK

How Memory Reconsolidation Can Unlock Lasting Change in the Coaching Room

Sometimes understanding why we feel or behave a certain way is not enough to create lasting change.

Patterns can remain deeply rooted because emotional learning is stored differently from conscious knowledge. This masterclass explores the fascinating process of memory reconsolidation and what it may offer coaches seeking to support deeper, more sustainable transformation.

Anne-Marie Mayers Clapp will introduce the principles behind emotional memory and explore why certain reactions, beliefs and patterns can continue even when a client consciously wants something different.

The session will encourage you to look beyond conversation alone and consider how coaches can create conditions in which old emotional learning can be revisited, understood and potentially updated.

Move beyond insight towards change that can truly take root.

Embody Your Coaching: Practical Tools for Stress, Wellbeing and Resilience

With Mark Walsh
Embodiment & Somatic Coach Training for Coaches & Facilitators, UK

Coaching does not happen only from the neck up.

How we breathe, move, regulate ourselves and respond physically to stress can influence how we think, communicate, lead and make decisions.

In this practical masterclass, Mark Walsh will explore the role the body plays in coaching and introduce accessible embodied approaches that coaches can use to support themselves and their clients.

You will explore:

  • What embodiment is, and what it is not.
  • The eight aspects of embodied intelligence.
  • Common mistakes to avoid when working with the body.
  • Centering and self-regulation techniques for coaches.
  • Practical tools for managing stress and supporting wellbeing.
  • Embodied approaches that can support creativity and leadership coaching.

The session is designed to deepen your understanding of embodied coaching while giving you practical techniques that can be incorporated into your professional practice.

Less thinking about the body. More learning from it.
