FORM: The Architecture of Becoming
A Four-Part Experiential Masterclass Series with Ian Norton AFC/M
What if the person you think you are is, in part, the person you learned you needed to be?
Across four powerful and experiential masterclasses, Confidence Architect Ian Norton AFC/M invites coaches, mentors and other professionals to look beneath behaviour, mindset and performance to explore something deeper: identity.
Drawing on more than 35 years of experience across coaching, counselling, NLP, performance, etiquette and protocol, nervous-system-informed practice and his own extraordinary lived experience, Ian brings together psychology, identity work and human behaviour in a way that is practical, provocative and deeply personal.
This isn't a series about adding another collection of techniques to your coaching toolbox.
It's an opportunity to understand why people become who they become, why change can feel threatening even when we consciously want it, and what becomes possible when we stop trying to fix behaviour and begin working with the identity beneath it.
Participants will be invited not simply to learn the work, but to experience it for themselves.

Ian Norton is a Confidence Architect, Fellow of the IAPC&M and creator of FORM — The Architecture of Becoming, an approach to confidence, identity and reinvention built around a simple premise: lasting change rarely begins with strategy; it begins with who we believe ourselves to be.
His career has taken him from the West End stage to working with royalty, international celebrities and senior professionals, including Princess Diana, Princess Margaret, Prince Edward, Joan Collins, George Michael and Russell Crowe.
A trained counsellor, NLP Master Practitioner, Tony Robbins Core 100 graduate, etiquette and protocol specialist and shamanic practitioner, Ian brings an unusually broad perspective to the psychology of confidence and human behaviour.
His own life has included extraordinary reinvention, giving his work a depth grounded not only in training, but in lived experience.
Today, Ian works privately with clients and organisations around identity reconstruction, confidence, nervous-system capacity, presence and the ability to navigate significant personal and professional change.
The Four-Part Experience
MASTERCLASS ONE — SEE
The Architecture of Identity
Who did you learn you needed to be?
Before we can change our lives, businesses or behaviour, we need to understand the identity doing the changing.
This opening masterclass explores how belonging, early experience, social expectation and our instinctive need for safety can shape identities that follow us long into adulthood.
The Strong One. The Achiever. The Peacemaker. The Good One. The Person Who Never Needs Help.
These identities may look like personality. Often, they began as adaptation.
Through teaching, reflection and experiential work, Ian will invite participants to explore the architecture beneath who they have become — and whether an identity that once protected them may now be limiting what comes next.
Participants will leave with:
- A new understanding of identity as something constructed rather than fixed
- Greater awareness of the roles and adaptations influencing their own behaviour
- A deeper lens through which to understand resistance and change in clients
- An introduction to the relationship between belonging, safety and identity
- A powerful question:Â Who might I be if I no longer needed to be who I learned to become?
MASTERCLASS TWO — QUESTION
Real vs True
What if some of the things you know about yourself aren't actually true?
"I can't."
"I'm not confident."
"I'm terrible with money."
"People like me don't do things like that."
"That's just who I am."
These statements can feel completely real. But real and true are not necessarily the same thing.
In this masterclass, Ian introduces one of the central principles of FORM:
Respect what's real. Challenge what claims to be true.
Rather than dismissing someone's lived experience with positive thinking or attempting to replace a "negative belief", participants will learn a more compassionate and powerful sequence:
It feels real.
Is it true?
What else is true?
This session explores how experiences become conclusions, conclusions become beliefs, and beliefs eventually become identity — and what happens when we begin questioning them.
Participants will leave with:
- A practical distinction between emotional reality and assumed truth
- A powerful inquiry process for themselves and their clients
- Greater understanding of how beliefs become embedded within identity
- A way of creating possibility without dismissing someone's lived experience
- A question capable of changing almost any conversation:Â What else is true?
MASTERCLASS THREE — RECONSTRUCT
The Architecture of Becoming
If you stopped organising your life around protection, who might you become?
Once we can see the identity we've been living from and question the truths supporting it, a different possibility emerges.
Not becoming somebody else.
Returning to more of ourselves.
This masterclass explores identity reconstruction: the process of consciously choosing the standards, behaviours, boundaries and ways of being capable of supporting what we now want to create.
Ian will explore why permission often precedes confidence, why growth needs to feel safe enough to sustain, and why strategy frequently fails when identity hasn't changed with it.
At the heart of the session is a central FORM principle:
The work isn't helping people become someone new.
The work is helping people stop abandoning the person they already are.
Participants will leave with:
- A framework for understanding conscious identity reconstruction
- Greater clarity around the difference between performing change and embodying it
- An understanding of why safety and capacity matter during expansion
- Practical questions for exploring standards, permission, boundaries and choice
- A clearer sense of the person they are choosing to be next
MASTERCLASS FOUR — INTEGRATE
Living FORM
Insight changes very little until it changes how we live.
The final masterclass brings the entire journey together.
Rather than introducing another layer of theory, this session creates space to integrate what participants have seen, questioned and reconstructed throughout the series.
Through reflection, conversation, experiential work and live coaching, Ian will invite participants to examine where old identities still appear, what has genuinely shifted and what now needs to be embodied in everyday life and professional practice.
Because transformation isn't demonstrated by what we understand in a masterclass.
It's demonstrated by what becomes different afterwards.
Participants will leave with:
- A personal FORM audit of where they are now
- Greater clarity around patterns that may still require attention
- A deeper understanding of integration and embodied change
- Questions and approaches they can bring into their own coaching and mentoring
- A personally defined commitment to how they intend to live and work differently
Why Attend the Series?
This series is for coaches, mentors and professionals who are curious about what lies beneath behaviour.
It will be particularly valuable if you work with people who know what they "should" do but still don't do it; repeatedly return to the same patterns; struggle with visibility, confidence or change; or appear to sabotage opportunities they consciously say they want.
Across the four masterclasses, participants will move through a deliberate progression:
SEE → QUESTION → RECONSTRUCT → INTEGRATE
Each masterclass stands alone, so participants are welcome to attend individual sessions.
Those attending the complete series, however, will experience the full FORM journey — moving from understanding how identity is constructed to consciously questioning, reconstructing and ultimately embodying a different way of being.
Expect insight.
Expect questions you may not have asked yourself before.
Expect conversation, reflection and experiences rather than endless slides.
And expect to encounter the work personally because before we can take someone else somewhere as a coach, it is worth being willing to go there ourselves.
FORM — The Architecture of Becoming
Identity before strategy.
Safety before confidence.
Standards before success.
